Ryan Smith played for an hour and Tom Brighton for 30 minutes as Millwall's reserves drew 0-0 with Crystal Palace at Bromley FC.
The Lions were the better side for much of the match and really should have taken all three Pontin's Holidays Combination League points having created the clearer opportunities.
Ross Gaynor came closest to winning the game with an effort which hit the bar, but overall coach Joe Gallen was pleased with his team's display - and the return to action of wingers Ryan and Tom.
"Obviously the real bonus for us was Ryan Smith's performance," said Joe. "He looked good for the hour in which he played and providing he suffers no reaction, Ryan could soon be available for the manager to consider for the first team.
It was a big step for Tom Brighton, who has been out of action for such a long time, but he will have been pleased to be playing football again and like Ryan, hopefully he will not suffer any reaction either.
Alan Dunne also did well for an hour or so and unusually for us, we were able to field a reasonably strong side overall which was reflected in our performance."
