Trialist Alieu Jallow headed a late leveller as a youthful Millwall side battled superbly to secure a share of the spoils in a 1-1 Pontin's Holidays Combination draw against Brighton & HA.
The Lions, fielding nine players under 19, including former Leicester City striker Jallow, were up against an experienced Albion outfit that included Kerry Mayo, Sam Rents and Joel Lynch.
However Lynch, who was starting his first match since fracturing his fibula during the League One match against Millwall in September, lasted just 20 minutes before hobbling off with a hamstring strain.
Lions centre-half Billy Jeffreys was also in the wars and had to leave the field with a nasty cut under his eye, but after treatment he returned to the fold and produced an outstanding display in the heart of defence. In an evenly fought contest, Brighton took the lead 12 minutes from time when Nathan Elder broke down the right, cut in and unleashed a stunning strike that gave keeper Chris Day no chance.
But Joe Little's young Lions refused to give up, and following a sustained spell of pressure, sub Jay Semper did well to create space before delivering an inch-perfect cross that Jallow met with a flying header from close-range.
