Return trip
Jem Karacan insists there will be no room for sentiment when he returns to face AFC Bournemouth on Saturday barely eight weeks after completing a three-month stint at the Fitness First Stadium.
Catford-born Jem was signed on a one-month loan from Reading last Thursday and made his Lions debut at Oldham 36 hours later.
Following on from a hard-working display at Boundary Park the 19-year-old then turned out in front of The Den faithful for his home debut against Luton Town on Monday.
Ironically the first start of Jem's professional career was also at The Den on 20th
October when he turned out for Saturday's opponents Bournemouth!
But the local lad - whose family and friends are diehard Lions fans - is adamant that there will be no old pals when he returns to the south coast on Saturday in a crucial clash.
"I got on really well with the boys down there and made my professional debut for Bournemouth," said Jem, "But I am going down there with Millwall now and my priority is helping us get the three points.
I received a few text messages from some of the boys soon after I joined Millwall saying that they were looking forward to meeting me on the pitch and how they were going to beat us.
But this is a big game for us, they all are, and one that we will be doing our best to win.
When I was on loan at Bournemouth they were bottom of the table, so I know whatm it is all about in terms of battling to get points.
We have to beat the teams around us like Bournemouth and Gillingham. It's as simple as that."
