The Lions took a massive stride towards League One safety with that 1-0 win at Hartlepool on Saturday. They can now finish the job against Leeds this weekend.
Kenny Jackett firmly believes that there is far better to come from his squad, and chairman John G Berylson has pledged to help him strengthen it during the summer. There have been a few false Den dawns in the recent past, but the promise of youngsters like Marc Laird, Ali Fuseini, Lewis Grabban, Dave Martin and Ryan Smith who will all be far more experienced next time round, allied to the reliability of Robbo, Zak Whitbread, Danny Senda, Andy Frampton and Gary Alexander suggests there's better to come.
This year's injury crisis can surely not be repeated, so why not be optimistic about 2008/9?
