Ali Fuseini struck his second goal in successive matches as Millwall moved out of the relegation zone with a vital three-point haul against Yeovil Town.
Teenager Fuseini followed up his first goal for The Lions at Bristol Rovers last weekend with an 82nd-minute drive that Yeovil keeper Steve Mildenhall looked to have covered, but somehow let squirm out of his grasp and bounce over the line.
The midfielder's late strike crowned an impressive fightback by Millwall, who did it the hard way after going a goal behind to James Walker's 50th-minute effort.
Jamie O'Hara, playing his last game for The Lions following a three-month loan from Spurs, hauled Kenny Jackett's side level on 71 minutes before Fuseini sent the home fans wild with his late winner.
The second half was thankfully a much more entertaining affair than the lacklustre opening 45 minutes, in which neither side really stamped their authority on proceedings.
Paul Warne tested Lenny Pidgeley with a half-volley on two minutes, likewise his Yeovil counterpart Steve Mildenhall held Gary Alexander's header at the second attempt two minutes later.
Glovers midfielder Matty Rose nearly scooped the ball into his own net attempting to clear Alexander's header and then O'Hara sent a 25-yarder wide of the mark as The Lions continued to press for an opening goal with no joy.
But it was Yeovil who made the breakthrough five minutes after the break when Walker, on loan from Charlton, lashed home an angled drive that gave Pidgeley no chance.
That spurred The Lions into action and an exquisite piece of skill from Will Hoskins saw the frontman bamboozle three defenders with his deft footwork before firing a fierce shot straight into the arms of grateful keeper Mildenhall.
On 55 minutes livewire O'Hara played a delightful ball into the area but Jay Simspon's header lacked power and was comfortably dealt with by the increasingly busy Mildenhall.
But it was the double substitution just past the hour mark that proved the turning point with Neil Harris and Bayo Akinfenwa replacing Simpson and Hoskins.
Within four minutes of their introduction Millwall should have been back on level terms when O'Hara's corner was met by the unmarked Zak Whitbread who glanced his header the wrong side of the post.
Millwall, spurred on by some magnificent support once again, continued to press and a resolute Glovers defence finally came unstuck 19 minutes from time.
Fuseini did the hard work on the right flank and whipped over a ball that was half-cleared by Terry Skiverton, but the ball fell invitingly for O'Hara at the post and he buried his drive into the bottom corner.
The Tottenham youngster had promised he would try to sign off his loan spell with a goal, and not content with grabbing the equaliser he continued to drive his team-mates on in a determined bid to get a second, winning, goal.
Fuseini gave a warning of what was to follow with a powerful run from deep inside his own half before driving wide from 25 yards and then Alexander headed on to Akinfenwa, whose stabbed effort was held by Mildenhall.
There was nothing the Yeovil keeper could do on 77 minutes other than thank his lucky stars as a sensational 30-yarder from Bryan Hodge smashed against the crossbar and to safety as Millwall turned the screw.
And their persistence finally paid off when Fuseini picked up the ball on the left, worked his way across into a more central position and let fly with a drive that Mildenhall perhaps should have saved.
It was a case of shutting up shop for the final eight minutes, and four nervy minutes of injury-time, but Jackett's Lions were in no mood to relinquish the lead they had worked so hard to obtain. To a man, they remained resolute until referee Steve Bratt blew the final whistle and left the pitch to a standing ovation from the fans.
