Six-shooters
Millwall Lionesses handed out a 6-0 thumping to rock-bottom Reading Royals to move within two points of second-placed Barnet in the Premier League.
Pru Buckley's charges got off to a flying start and were a goal ahead after 15 minutes when Angela Kiobel picked up Katie Fanning's pass, rounded keeper Emily Cure to slot home her first goal this season.
Striker Kiobel was a constant threat, and indeed could have bagged a hat-trick inside the opening half an hour only to be denied by the woodwork and good defending.
Millwall always looked likely to add to their tally, and a second goal duly arrived on the stroke of half-time courtesy of player-boss Pru Buckley's finish from a Jo Woodgates' corner.
The second half saw The Lionesses pile the pressure on and within two minutes of the restart Charlie Dolby's simple tap-in from another Fanning delivery increased their advantage.
On 59 minute Mamuse Evisowe got in on the scoring act to make it 4-0 with a sublime finish from the irrepressible Fanning's assist.
Barely two minutes later Buckley bagged her second - and Millwall's fifth - with a neat header from Victoria Boardman's corner.
Sarah Jones and Sinead Fitzsimons were solid at the back for the Lionesses and kept the Reading strike force at a distance, whilst full-backs Amy Mason and Woodgates pushed forward at every opportunity.
In goal, Claire Lacey was rarely tested but on the one occasion she was called into action she did well to deal with Charlotte Benson's 20-yarder.
With just three minutes remaining hard-working sub Boardman was rewarded for her efforts when she latched onto a Buckley pass to side-foot home to put the seal on a comprehensive win.
Millwall Lionesses: Claire Lacey, Joanne Woodgates, Sarah Jones, Sinead Fitzsimons, Amy Mason, Charlie Dolby (Victoria Boardman), Pru Buckley, Carly Eagles, Mamuse Emosivwe, Katie Fanning, Angela Kiobel. Subs not used: Dionne Lennon.
