Dennis BDennis Burnetturnett was signed from West Ham Utd in August 1967 for £15,000
making 48 League appearances for The Hammers. A
fine defensive footballer, he played at half-back-cum-
sweeper. Burnett took over the captaincy during 1971-
72, when Harry Cripps was injured. Between 1967 and
1973 he missed only three games, proving to be a very
consistent defender. He joined Hull City at the end of
October 1973 for a fee of £70,000 and played 46
matches for the Tigers, scoring two goals.

 Dennis Burnett
Burnett returned to Millwall on loan in March 1975,
adding six games and two goals to his impressive total
of appearances, but could not help the Lions stave off
relegation. In September 1975, Burnett signed for
Brighton, for whom he made 44 appearances in the
Third Division. He later played for Ilford and had a spell
in the North American Soccer League with St. Louis
Stars before managing a Norwegian club.
