Gordon Bolland

 

 Gordon cGordon Bollandame through the youth teams at Chelsea and made two first team
 appearances for The Blues before moving across
 London to Leyton Orient in March 1962. He played 63
 matches and scored 19 times in his two years at
 Brisbane Road and then joined Norwich City in March
 1964 for £31,500. Bolland returned to London and
 signed for Charlton Athletic in 1967. He played 105
 League games and scored 29 goals for Norwich and
 made 11 appearances for The Addicks before joining
 Millwall in October 1968 for £10,000.




 

 
 

 At 6ft tall and very skilful, he was an ideal forward and also operated in
 midfield fGordon Bollandor The Lions as well as a striker. He took over from Harry Cripps
 as The Lions' penalty taker in 1971-72 and his
 spectacular goal against Bristol City at The Den, on
 16th October 1971, won the 'Match of The Day - Goal
 of the Month' award. He was Millwall's top scorer with
 19 League goals in 1972-73, the same season when he
 netted nine goals in seven games consecutive Second
 Division matches. Gordon finished his career in his
 home town as player-manager of Boston Utd.
