Millwall Girls Sports Academy

The Millwall Community Scheme Sports Academy is a programme for girls aged 16 - 24 years of age combining full time academic study with advanced football or basketball coaching and coach education qualifications. |
The BTEC National Diploma in Sport is a two year course designed to give students a platform to build on their education. The students will study all areas of the sports industry, health & safety, preparation for sport, sports leadership and a work based project. Harris Academy will lead on the educational side of the Sports Academy. |

Students will study either football or basketball as the practical element of the programme.
Both football and basketball students will receive 6 hours practical coaching and one fixture per week delivered by highly qualified & experienced coaches. |

Students will develop an understanding of psychology, nutrition, injury prevention, sport preparation, learn how to prepare and recover from matches, and how to treat injuries. All academy players will have access to the academy's physiotherapist and masseur. |
