Double blow
Lions boss Kenny Jackett has been dealt a double blow with confirmation that top scorer Gary Alexander and midfielder Alan Dunne are both ruled out of Saturday's Den derby with Leyton Orient.
Former O's striker Gary had stitches in an ankle injury sustained
following a raking tackle by former Lion Marvin Williams during Tuesday night's 1-0 win at Yeovil, whilst Dunney chipped a bone in his foot during the same game and was forced off at half-time.
"It was a bad tackle on Gary," said Kenny. "He will be out for a number of weeks, which is a frustration for us.
I had a look at the tackle again afterwards and it was not good. The guy came into him with a force and to a degree, Gary was lucky not to have sustained a worse injury."
Gary's absence could see a first full start for Bas Savage, who bagged ghis first goal for The Lions with the winner at Yeovil four days ago.
"Bas did well and apart from his goal, made a good contribution. He held the ball up, he won headers, provided a physical presence in both boxes and complemented the other forwards."
With Dave Brammer and Adrian Forbes again sidelined through injury, Kenny is set to add Ahmet Brkovic and Neil Harris to the squad.
"We had Marcus Bignot back available at Yeovil," added the manager, "Now Brkovic is back and Neil Harris is just getting over an achilles injury too, so we have senior players on our books who I feel can do a job."
Meanwhile Leyton Orient boss Martin Ling could stick with the same starting XI that secured a 2-1 home win against Swindon Town on Tuesday night - The O's first home success in five starts.
